John Henry Houston

John Henry “Tight” Houston, a retired Shipyard Foreman, departed his life on Monday, July 11, 2016 at his residence. Loving husband of Brenda Howard Houston. Devoted father of Ceaser Watkins, Josephine Bridgewater, Henry Houston, Ernestine Houston, Julia Jones, Victoria Royal, Ellison, Bernell, and Lovell Haper, Christina Mason, Ronald, Angel, and Andrea John, Bobby Houston, Kenyell , Anthony and Jarrell Howard and the late Greta Harper. Grandfather of the late Olvia Wilson. Son of the late James, Sr. and Missie Frazier Houston. Brother of Rev. James Houston, Jr., Mose Houston, Leroy Houston, and the late Cleveland, Frank, Rodell, and L. B. Houston, Ethel Henry, Minnie Patterson and Lena Mae Houston. Son-in-law of Nancy Howard and the late Joseph Howard, Jr. Brother-in-law of Barbara Talley Houston and Rosemary Houston; also survived by 45 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 80 years, a native of Utica, MS, a former resident of Harvey, LA and he presently resided in Marrero, LA. Relatives and friend of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Rock Baptist Church, Israel Baptist Church, Second Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Israel Baptist Church, 1612 Esther Ave. Harvey, LA on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. Johnny M. McKinnies, Sr. host pastor; Rev. Alfredia Loston, officiating

Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
