Mack Stokes, Jr.

Rev. Dr. Mack Stokes, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his residence.

Pastor Stokes was the proud founder of Heavenly Star Missionary Baptist Church which he pastored for 38 years.

Beloved husband of Gisele Mosley Stokes and the late Dorothy Jean Nolden Stokes. Devoted father of Bessie Stokes, Susan Mayo, Jonas Green, Rene ( Rev. Dr. Melvin, III) Jones, Kelvin Jackson, Micheal Stokes, Randolph (Melissa) Scott, Anthony Stokes,  Kenneth (Raynette) Scott, Keyana Mosley, Javoda Mosley, Micheal (Ranada) Mosley, Matthew (Chrishonda) Mosley, Nathaniel (Kristy) Mosley, and the late Shelia Sanders, Mack Stokes, III, Mack Stokes, and Cedric Stokes. Son of the late Mack, Sr. and Josephine Jefferson Stokes. Brother of Vera Mae Burns, Evelyn Stokes, Josephine (Harold) Stokes, Roosevelt (Ann) Stokes, Henry Stokes, Robert (Robin) Stokes and the late Ollie Smith, also survived by 50 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Age: 80 years a native of Natchez, MS, former resident of Marrero, LA., and presently resided in New Orleans, LA

Relatives and friends of the family, also officers and members of Heavenly Star Missionary Baptist Church, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; members of Westside Missionary Baptist Association are invited to attend the Wake Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 7:00.pm. and the viewing will begin at 5:00p.m.
