Dorothy Ruffin Lee

Dorothy “Dot” Ruffin Lee entered into eternal rest with her heavenly Father on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the age of 87. She was a native and resident of Algiers, LA. Wife of the late David Lee, Sr. Loving mother of Joy Lee Legania, Charlene Ann Lee, Leon Wynell Lee, and the late Priscilla Lee Benjamin, David Lee, Jr., and Gwendolyn Lee Gamble. Daughter of the late Wesley, Sr. and Olivia L. Ruffin. Granddaughter of the late Orelia Felo and Marquerite Ruffin. Sister of Wesley, Curtis, John, and Otis Ruffin, Gladys Butler, Merite Cain, Linda Black, Delores Payne, Marguerite Robinson, and the late Ceasar Ruffin, Sr., Olivia Wallace and Mable Brooks; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers-in-law, 4 sisters-in-law, 5 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members, of Second Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, Nazarine Baptist Church, St, Stephen Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of Orleans Parish School Board, West Jefferson Medical Center and Ochsner Medical Center, and Hospice of New Orleans are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Pl., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Andre Seigler, officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:50a.m. ONLY at the church Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
