Betty Jean Williams Sparks entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the age of 70. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Loving mother of Deborah Williams, Ernest Sparks, Jr., and Tyran (Charlene) Sparks. Daughter of the late Walter Lee Williams, and Selina Burrell Wiliams. Sister of Ruth Shipp, Naomi (Norah) Harris, Waltereen Simmons, Carolyn (Brandon, Sr.) Hawkins, Patricia (Mark, Sr.) Parrish, and the late Walter Allen Williams; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Baptist Church, Olive Branch Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; members of L. B. Landry High School Class of 1963; employees of Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus, Home Depot, Woldenberg Village Assisted Living, Uptown Nursing Home, Elementary School District 159, Community Health Network, and Jackson Park Hospital are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L.B. Landry Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
