Kathy Downs entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the age of 63

She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, La.

Wife of the late George Armstead, Jr. by first marriage.  Devoted mother of DeLise Armstead-McDonald, Desi Omar Armstead, Larry Thaddeus Downs, DeJohn Joseph Downs. Devoted daughter of Deloris Cullier and the late Preston Downs, Sr. Stepdaughter of the late Raymond Cullier. Granddaughter of the late Rev. Whitney Barconey, Stella Sullivan, and Maude Downs. Sister of Tony Downs, Ernest Downs, Samuel Downs, Eric Downs, Marcus Downs, Daniel Downs, Preston Downs, Jr., Veronica Ann Walker,Cynthia Downs, Denise Johnson, Darlene Jenkins, Zina Jones, Gwendolyn Donahue, Sherry Franklin, Sabrina Batiste, Tracy Johnson and the late Karl Downs and David Downs. Former wife of Paul Davis, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Touch of Love Ministries and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Touch of Love Ministries 3469 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
