Vera Lacarbiere-Watkins

Vera Lacarbiere Watkins entered into eternal rest at her residence on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 53. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Vera was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School and an employee of the City of New Orleans Code Enforcement Department. Devoted mother of Ariel (Laron) Louis and Kierra Stringer. Loving grandmother of Laron, Amyrie, Princeton, Lailah and Ashantae. Beloved daughter of Vera Dorsey and the late John Lacarbiere, Sr. Granddaughter of the late Felix, Sr. and Beatrice Dorsey.   Sister of Charlene Lacarbiere and the late John Lacarbiere, Jr. Former wife of Marvin Watkins; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Beacon Light International Baptist Cathedral; employees of the City of New Orleans Code Enforcement Dept. and Treasury Dept. are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Beacon Light International Baptist Cathedral, 1937 Mirabeau Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery- Westwego, LA
