Florence Whittington Smith entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the age of 76. She was a native of Welcome, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Beloved wife of Herman Smith, Sr. Loving mother of Gail (Gerald) Jones, Leticher (Roosevelt) Randall, Herman (Alisa) Smith, Patricia (Robert) Gordon, and Florence (Roosevelt) Washington. Loving grandmother of Marious, Teaonde, Gerald, Tonika, Alisha, Meagan, Shaun, Robin, Jonathan, Ciara, Rhema, Darius, Datrena, and Roosevelt, Jr. Daughter of the late Felix and Florence Whittington. Sister of Ora Lee Broden, Dora Smith, Oretha (John) Helire, Barbara (Sidney) Jones, Idell (Orlander) Taylor, and Walter (Velma Lee) Whittington. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters . Daughter-in-law of Emerle Smith. Godmother of Sharon Branch; also survived by 15 great grandchildren, 10 sisters-in-law, 6 brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church, Regular Baptist Church, St. Paul Baptist Church, God's Word Christian Center, First Community Antioch Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Little Zion Baptist Church, 433 Avondale Garden Rd. Avondale, LA on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Damian J. Brown, officiating
