Ruby Leona Porche

Ruby Leona Porche was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the age of 68. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resided in both San Antonio and Austin, TX for the past 11 years following Hurricane Katrina. Ruby was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School and volunteered with the Orleans Parish School Board. She was a talented seamstress, who spent many years designing and sewing clothes for family and friends. Loving mother of Richanda Porche (Leo, Sr.) Jones. Devoted grandmother of Richard Charles Porche, Richelle Charlay Porche, Leuntta Regan Porche and Leo Kelly Jones, Jr. Daughter of the late Raymond, Sr. and Florence Porche. Sister of Raymond, Jr. (Clara) of Tampa, FL, Roosevelt (Estelle) of San Antonio, TX, Alton, and Gregory (Castine) Porche of Leesville, LA, Carmel Black, Thelma (Roosevelt) Jones, Patricia Sanders, and the late Sylvia Turner, Elnora Mason, Antoine Porche, Sr., Wilfred Porche, Sr., and Melvin Porche. Godmother of Wilfred Porche, Jr. and Denzel Jones; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of L. B. Landry High School Class of 1967 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 9:00a.m.

Pastor Norman Francis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
