Don Leon Taylor peacefully departed this life on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the age of 60. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Gretna, LA. Don was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School. He was employed offshore for many years as a cook, and was presently employed with the New Orleans French Market. Loving husband of Sharon Ann Ricard Taylor. Devoted father of Darilynn (Lawrence) Shannon and Dion Roberts. Stepfather of Tamika Baldwin-Butler and the late Mitchell C. Ricard, IV. Grandfather of Denesia Turner, Alysia Pree, Lawrence Shannon, III, Dion, Xavier, and Na’Jhae Young, Terrance Butler, Jr., My’LA Richard, Julius Hills, Jewel Mosley and Cortez Rayford. Son of the late Joseph and Josephine Taylor. Brother of the late Joseph Harris, Winfred Taylor-Hughes and Ethel Mae Harris Stewart. Son-in-law of Shirley C. Ricard and the late Mitchell Ricard, Jr. Brother-in-law of Shirley (Avis) Williams, Verna, Mitchell, III, and Faye Ricard, John Hughes and Ernestine Harris. Nephew of Doris, Rita, and Benny Ricard, and Randolph Charles. Devoted friend of Julius Mosley, Willie and Logan O’Neal; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends, and his French Market Family. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of the New Orleans French Market are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST.
