Thomas Roy, Sr.

Thomas Roy, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the age of 93. He was a native of Mississippi and a resident of Gretna, LA. Thomas served his country in World War II as a member of the U. S. Marines and was a retired laborer of Don Bohn Ford.  Beloved husband of the late Julia Ella Joseph Jackson-Roy. Father of Patricia Roy (Rev. Reginald) Watson, and Thomas Roy, Jr. Stepfather of Judy M. Jackson Bosley-Ketchens and the late Rev. Walter C. Jackson, Jr. Son of the late Oliver Roy and Lizzie Franklin St. Ann. Stepson of the late Oscar St. Ann and Alma Roy. Brother of the late Ethel Roy Brady, Margaret Roy Clark, Lionel Grandison, and Gertrude Ransonnet. Father-in-law of Wilma R. Jackson of Houston, TX and the late Rev. Vernon Ketchens, Jr. Grandfather of the late Reginald Watson, Jr. Great-grandfather of the late Haseena Roy and Jaela Celestine; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Sinai B. C., St. Paul B. C., St Stephen M.B. C., Destiny M. B. C. and all neighboring churches; members of O.J. Dunn Lodge #85 F& AM, and Gretna Community and Senior Centers are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 1249 LeBoeuf St., Algiers, LA on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.

Interment: McDonoghville Cemetery-Gretna, LA
