Melanie Denise Stokes departed this life on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her residence. Companion of Maurice Givens. Mother of Alexander Stokes, Jacqueline Antoinette Stokes, and the late Emanuel Johnathan Stokes. Daughter of Evelene Stokes and the late Jim Brooks. Granddaughter of Mack Stokes, Sr. and Josephine Stokes. Sister of Jannie Mae (Kevin) Matthews, Diane Stokes ( Errol) Muse, and the late Lester James Stokes; also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 56 years, a native of Pineville, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA
