Melvin Collins, Sr.

Melvin Collins, Sr. departed peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 8:25a.m. He was a retired carpenter and the owner of Melvin Collins Construction Company.

Beloved husband of the late Geneva Collins. Devoted father of Melvin Collins, Jr. (Deborah), Keith Randy Winesberry Collins (Natasha), Gregory Collins, Sunseri Collins Henry, Montreal Collins Chappel and Monica Collins. Son of the late John and Eva Collins. Brother of Mary Collins Pierce, Louverta Lee, Gertrude Robertson, Erma Baker , John Collins(Lois), also survived by 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends.

Age: 89 years a native of Opelousas, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA

Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the mass of Christian burial at All Saints Catholic Church Fr  1441 Teche St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
