Gloria Lee Dixon

Gloria Lee Brown Dixon, age 77, transitioned to Heaven on Thursday, November 17, 2016. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Marrero, LA. Gloria was a graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1957. Beloved wife of the late Charles Dixon, Sr. Devoted mother of Tyrone C. (Rose) Dixon, Charles (Dearlanda) Dixon, Jr., Todd A. (Melonie) Dixon, Travis A. (Adriane) Dixon, Chadric E. Dixon, Charlotte E. Dixon, Felicia L. Dixon (the late David) Owens, Monica L. (Vaughn)Ramsey-Rogers and Stephanie A. Dixon (Randolph) Macabitas. Daughter of the late Leola Garrison Brown and Lawrence Edward Brown. Niece of the late Rosetta Hicks who was instrumental in her rearing in Harvey, LA and whom she loved as a mother. Sister of Stella L. Favorite and Joyce F. Myles. Niece of Cecilia Carter and Dorothy Hunter. Mother in law of the late Toney Dudley, III. Godmother of Amanda L. Hunter and Avis Dixon; also survived by 23 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Gloria’s family was her career, she worked tirelessly and diligently rearing her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren instilling in them morals, wisdom, knowledge and faith. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way Marrero, LA on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr.-officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m. -9:50a.m. Only at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA
