Verna Clay Thompson

Verna Mae Clay Thompson, age 67, departed this life on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at her residence. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Verna attended Lincoln High School, and was a retired custodian of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Devoted mother of Henry Joseph (Montrelle) Thompson, III, Shenell Marie Thompson, Alex (Tina) Thompson, Sr. and Chendrell (Avil) Stewart. Grandmother of the late Michael Wayne Thompson. Daughter of the late Tom Clay and Velma Jones. Sister of the late Ann Marie Clay Gibson and Tom Clay Jr. Former wife of Henry Thompson, Jr.; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Life Center Cathedral and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Life Center Cathedral, 2100 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Bishop J.
