Modest Jean Clayton entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the age of 64. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Modest was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School, and a former sales clerk at the New Orleans Riverwalk. Loving mother of Monique Leon, Keith M. Adams, Charles Clayton, Tiffany Clayton, and Jamay Moore. Beloved companion of Ronald Oliver. Daughter of the late Robert H. Clayton, Sr. and Myrtle M. Trepagnier Clayton. Sister of Robert H. Clayton, Sr., Arthur J. Clayton, Sr., Cornelius Clayton, Sr. Ronald Clayton, Sr., Donald Clayton, Sr., Michael Clayton, Sr., and the late Doris M. Clayton, Myrtle L. Adams, Viola M. Clayton, and Anthony W. Clayton, Sr. She is also survived by her children’s devoted father Charles Ray Dexter, 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.
