Claudette Brown Stewart

Claudette Brown Stewart, age 62, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Claudette was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School and attended the University of New Orleans. She was employed with JoEllen Smith Convalescent Home. Loving mother of Lakeisha Brown (Dwayne) Anderson and Edward Brown, Jr. Grandmother of Brionne, Davionne, Lanice, Bamya, and Dwayne, Jr. Daughter of the late Jeanette Hunter Brown. Sister of Marie Smith, who raised her after the death of their mother, David Earl Rivers Hunter, and the late Thomas Rivers, Jr. and Henry Rivers; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Philadelphia Christian Center, Mt. Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church, Providence Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of JoEllen Smith Living Center are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Philadelphia Christian Center, 3127 General Meyer Ave., New Orleans, LA on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor James Swatt, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.
