William Jones, Jr.

William “Hungry” Jones, Jr., age 66, a security officer, coach, and mentor too many, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved husband of Aleta Woodley Jones. Loving father of Tashonda Henderson, Arona Jones, Talesha Harris, Trenisha (Isiah) Berry, Kevin Johnson, Sr., Beatrice Belisle, Regina Plain and the late Robert Hutson. Son of the late William “T-Bell” Jones, Sr. and Clara “Myrt” Jones. Brother of Doris (Victor) Washington, Ivory Reed (Yvonne), John (Masilena) Pollard, Carolyn (the late John) Bush, Rolland Jones, and the late Anne Sanders and Myrtle Jones Barrow. Son-in-law of the late Charles and Fannie Woodley. Brother-in-law of Anita (Ronald) Dennis, Kathleen (Vincent, Sr.) Stokes, Victoria (the late Willie) Haskins, Charlene (Michael, Sr.) Andrus, Paula Woodley, and the late Madeline Woodley and Norah (Elouise) Butler, Jr.; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church #1 of Algiers and all neighboring churches; faculty, staff and alumni of L. B. Landry High School, L. B. Landry Classes 1969 and 1970, Orleans Parish PM High School, and Friends of Landry; employees of Rainey’s Restaurant, DaVita Uptown, Amedysis Home Health; Nursing Staff and Security of Touro Hospital and the entire Algiers Community are invited to attend the Funeral Service at L. B. Landry High School Auditorium, 1200 L. B. Landry Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 17, 2016, under the auspices of Second Baptist Church at 10:00a.m.

Pastor Andre Sigler, officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:50a.m. ONLY at the above named auditorium.
