Kirby Dwayne Holmes departed this life on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his residence at the age of 55. He was a native of Waterproof, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA.

Son of Francella Holmes of Charleston, SC. and the late Joseph Benard. Grandson of the late Walker and Cora Holmes, Willie and Pearlie Benard. Brother of Minister Cora (Darryl) Madere of Mesquite, TX, Pearlie (Eddie) Gillis of Monroe, LA, Marilyn (Marvin) McDowell, Carolyn (Anthony) Trinity of Gretna, LA and Zelda Holmes of Charleston, SC, Joseph Holmes of Charleston, SC, Johnny Holmes of Monroe, LA, Calvin Holmes of Gretna, LA, Acquine (Twilyn) Holmes of Lafayette, LA, and the late Ester B. Senexant, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Love and Faith Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service Love and Faith Baptist Church 45 5th St. Gretna, LA on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA
