Melba Johnson Williams

Melba “Mel” Johnson Williams peacefully entered into eternal rest at her residence on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the age of 75. She was a native and resident on New Orleans, LA. Melba was a retired Hotel Housekeeper. Loving mother of Sterling, Sharon, Jeffery, and Troylynn Williams, and the late Emile Brown, Jr. Daughter of the late Nelson Johnson and Dorothy Alsina Johnson. Sister of Margie Collins and Lillie McGee; also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, priest and parishioners of St. Raymond/St Leo Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Doubletree and Bourbon Orleans Hotels; friends and families of Pilot Land /St. Bernard Community are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Ave., New Orleans, LA on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
