Obie Jackson Sr., a retired welder peacefully passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the age of 63 surrounded by his loving family. He was native and resident of McDonoghville, LA. Beloved husband of 23 years to Debra Thomas Jackson. Loving and devoted father of Tinika (Nathan) Montgomery, Keisha (Oliver) Vega of Colorado Springs, CO, Shanella and Shanta Jackson, Obie Jackson, Jr., and Jazzy Page. Stepfather of Casietra (Barry) Ball, Tyriel and Ferdinand Thomas. Son of the late Lawrence Jackson, Sr. and Gertrude Jasmine Jackson. Brother of Janice Jackson Pruitt, Paulette (Easton) Gray, Marsha Jackson Green, and the late Jessie Mae Arties, Lorraine Jackson Hughes and Lawrence Jackson, Jr., also survived by 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grand child and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Royal Priest Hood Outreach Ministries, Pastor Evangelist Angel Nichols, Sunrise Baptist Church, Shiloh Baptist of Gretna, Life Center Cathedral and all neighboring churches; employees of Wynhoven Nursing Home, Teche Regional Medical Center in Houma, La, Taco Bell, Over the top Janitorial Service LLC of Colorado Springs, CO and Mother’s Restaurants are invited to attend the Memorial Services at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church 1738 L.B.
