Olivia Simmons, age 57, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus. She was a native and resident of Avondale, LA. Beloved wife of Cable Sorells. Loving mother of Herbert, Reneal, and Kenneth Simmons, Tyrone McIntrye, Ardecia Hill,and Keshanna Brignac. Daughter of the late Joseph and Hilda Simmons. Grandmother of Kenyonna and Keyonna Conley, Kentrell Scott, Kentrica Wilson, Darreus and Tairyon Sorrels, Herbert Crossgrow, Shani Paul, Cortez Hills, Micayla Hill, Darrielle, Darreneal, Darrick, Jiah, Kayla, Quentin, and the late Alontay Simmons. Sister of Ordela (Robert) Thomas, Velma Lee (Walter) Whittington, Isabel (Herbert) Jones, Freddie Birden, Hilda Mae Simmons, Pernell (Glenda) Simmons, and the late Emily Birden, Sadie Mae Roussell, Joyce Sims, Charles Simmons, and Norman Simmons, also survived by 14 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Baptist Church, 433 Avondale Garden Rd. Avondale, LA on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Damian Brown, officiating
