Ernest James Stewart, Jr.

Ernest James Stewart, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Luke Nursing Home at the age of 102. He was a native and resident of Gretna, LA and a retired barber from the Jefferson Parish Prison.

Husband of the late Alma Andry Stewart. Father of Betty Lynn Stewart Simmons, Ronnie Ray (Joyce) Stewart, Sr., Marlene G. Stewart Birden, Nedra L. Stewart Jackson, and the late Jacquelyn Stewart, and Linda Stewart Getridge. Son of the late Ernest James Stewart, Sr. and Lovender Zeno Stewart. Grandson of the late William Stewart and Alvander Gaines Stewart. Brother of William Stewart, Sr. and the late Lionel, Mildred, and Ella Mae Stewart, also survived by 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends  

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Jesus Christ Apostolic Lighthouse (JCAL Ministries International), Regular Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Regular Baptist Church 901 5th St. Gretna, LA on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
