Eva Ross Davis

Eva “Charlesmama” (Ross) Davis passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, January 20, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Davis Sr. Mother of Lionel Davis, Irene Fraise, Samuel (Beth) Davis Jr., and Charles (Sherrilyn) Davis. Grandmother of Clark Fraise, Eileen Fraise Butler (Frederick), Carlos Fraise (Grace), Dominique, Brandon, Monique, and Tamika Davis. Great grandchildren of Kelan, Kingston and Khairi Fraise, Fredrick Butler Jr., Christen and Chris William Jr. Daughter of the late Freddie and Mary Green Ross. Sister of Eugene (Jeanne) Ross, Ralph Ross, Shirley Joseph, and the late Freddie Ross Jr., Rudolph Ross, Richard Ross, Jimmie Ross, Orelia Powell, Amy Carter, Doretha Bush, Mary Ann Bush, and Anita Ross. Sister-in-law of Louise Ross and Albertine Baldwin. Devoted long-time friend and companion of Emmanuel Swain, also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers and hospital staff at Ocshner Hospital for their efforts, care, and dedication.

Age: 88 years a native and resident of New Orleans, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and neighboring churches; employees and retirees of Orleans Parish School Board and Rosenwald Elementary School are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church,1249 LeBouef St. New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
