Charles Joseph Carter, Sr.

Charles J. Carter entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was a retired bus driver for Jefferson Parish School Board. Beloved husband of Eva Carter. Father of Eric Carter, Charles Carter, Jr., and the late Trenell and Trenice Carter. Stepfather of Charles Carter, Sharon Jones, Obie, Darlene, Charles, Clevon, and Yolanda Davis, Demetria Gardner. Son of the late Albert Carter, Sr., and Clara Mills Carter. Brother of Alfred Carter, Sr., Glenn Lee Bridges, Audrey James, and the late Albert Carter, Jr., also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 24 step grandchildren, 19 step great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Age: 77 years a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Progressive Church 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
