Dood Johnson

Dood “Dade” Johnson, Jr. departed this life at his residence on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the age of 79. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Dood retired from the Mississippi Grain Elevator as a Crane Operator after many years of service. Loving husband of 62 years to Ernestine Henry Johnson. Devoted father of Stanley, Dood III, and Perry Johnson of Houston, TX, Wanda Jackson, Robin Crawford, and the late Debra Johnson Young. Son of the late Della and Dood Johnson, Sr. Grandson of the late Lawrence and Orelia Felo Johnson, and Ather and Leanna Johnson. Brother of the late Lawrence Johnson, Sr. Son-in-law of the late Clarence Henry, Sr. and Ernestine Harrison Henry. Father-in-law of the late Nickles Jackson, Jr.; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church, Second Nazarine Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Andre Sigler, officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:50a.m ONLY at the church. Interment: Westlawn Cemetery-Gretna, LA
