Wardell J. Brignac, Sr.

Wardell Joseph Brignac, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the blessed age of 82, surrounded by his family. He was a native of Edgard, LA and a lifelong resident of Harvey, LA. Wardell retired from Avondale Shipyard after 33 years of service. Beloved husband of Loretta Lumar Brignac. Loving father of Gregory (Shawanda), Carol (Willie), John (Trina), Wardell Jr. (Veleria), Stacey, Deadreal (Errol) and Denise (John). Son of the late Evans and Hilda Brignac. Brother of Stafford Sr. (Idell) , and Steven Sr. (Gloria) Brignac, Elona Lumar, Lovinia Pierce, Alice Roussell, and the late Benoris Brignac, Sr. Son-in-law of the late Octave and Leontine Lumar. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, 1 niece, 6 nephews, 5 sisters-in-law, and 9 brothers-in-law. Wardell is also survived by his devoted niece and nephew Bonnie and Carl Brignac, a devoted godchild Dora Sylvian, 17 wonderful grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 9 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, 700 Maple Ave. Harvey, LA on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m.; Recitation of Rosary 9:00a.m.
