Vernal Smith, Jr. departed this life at University Medical Center on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the age of 35. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved son of Vernal Smith, Sr. and Joyce Smith. Loving fiancée of Angele Knight. Devoted father of Vernal Smith III and VerNiya Smith. Brother of Kendal Leon Smith, Queen Bell, Angela Henry and Toshica Clofer. Grandson of the late Leon and Mary Smith, Johnny Smith, Sr. and Aserine Smith; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Zionfield Worship Center and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Greater Zionfield Worship Center, 636 11th St. Westwego, LA on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Samuel Travis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
