Clarence L Green

Clarence Leonard Green, Jr., peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Luling Living Center at the age of 77. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Clarence was a graduate McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, LA and attended Welding School in Baytown, TX. He spent many years as a Merchant Seaman traveling around the world. Clarence later became a welder for Shell Oil Company, from which he retired after many years of service. After retirement he became very active in church work at Pilgrim Baptist Church of Kenner, LA where he was a deacon. He later joined Mount Hermon Baptist Church where he continued to work tirelessly in the deacon ministry. Beloved husband of 30 years to the late Geraldine T. Green. Loving father of Mark Green. Son of late Clarence L. Green, Sr. and Celestine B. Green who adopted him at the age of 6. Brother of Leonard, Jerry, Norman, Shirley, Shelia, Judy, and Elizabeth Butler; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Hermon Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 3512 Hwy 90 Avondale, LA on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Pastor Darold Ingram, officiating Visitation will be held from 8:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery-Metairie, LA
