Betty S. Rogers entered into eternal rest at Specialty Extended Care of Monroe on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the age of 73. She was a native of Paincourtville, LA, former resident of New Orleans, LA and presently resided in Monroe, LA. since Hurricane Katrina. Betty retired from Xavier University after 30 years of service as a Assistant Dorm Director.

Devoted mother of Giselle L. Rogers. Beloved grandmother of Corbin P. Brown, Jr. and Christopher M. Rogers. Daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy Thomas Shaw. Sister of Emile (Veola) Thomas, Ada (Willie, Sr.) Davis and Rosie J. Walker. Godmother of Chalantha Adams and John Brown, also survived by 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers and members of Zion Travelers First Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Irvin Scales, Sr. officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. service time at the parlor.
