Queenie R. Lee

Queenie “Madea” M. Lee, age 90, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Belzoni, MS and a resident of New Orleans, LA for 70 years. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late W. H. Lee, Sr. Loving mother of Queen Ester (the late Freddie) Meggs, Evelyn Muse, Maggie Mitchell, W.H. (Cindy) Lee, Jr., George Lee, Calvin Lee, Keith Lee, Barbara Lee, Kenny Lee of Atlanta, GA, and the late Dorothy (late Richard) Harris, and Melvyn Jones. She was also instrumental in rearing of her granddaughter Dr. Marilyn Jones of Canton, OH. Daughter of the late Tom and Martha Rush. Sister of Iola Claiborne and the late Eula Davis, Eldora Strickland, Samuel, Rev. Connie, Rev. T.P., J.C., Tippy and Tommy Rush; also survived by a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Holy St. Matthews Baptist Church, Loving Four Baptist Tabernacle and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Loving Four Baptist Tabernacle, 2900 Thalia St., New Orleans, LA on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Matthew Tanner, Jr., officiating
