Donald Anderson, Sr.

Donald Anderson, Sr. (Poppa) departed this life on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Tulane Medical Center at the age of 68. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. He retired from Bridge City Correction Facility (formerly LTI) as a Correctional Officer and worked for Railcrew Xpress, as a driver, until his illness. Son of the late William and Amelia Howard Anderson. Grandson of the late Rev. Joseph and Elonia Howard and William and Della Anderson. Father of Dearlanda (Charles) Dixon, Belantha (Darrell) Crain, Donald Jr. and Keva Anderson, Carolina and Demond (the late Tennesion) Royal. Brother of Paulette Anderson Williams and Dana (Marcus) Chaisson. Nephew of Leborah (Irvin) Jones, Essie (late JW) Tyler, and Ruby (late Duncan, Sr.) White, Nancy (late Joseph) Howard, Isreal (late Ophelia) Wright, Hattie Howard and the late Olevia (Albert) Rogers, and Willard Anderson. Uncle of Ebony (Jarrett) White, Bejide (Nile) Legania, Rashida Williams, and Braylon Chaisson, also survived by 15 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host cousins, godchildren other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of New Zion B.C., Real Love Interracial Fellowship of Marrero, Second Zion B.C. and all neighboring Churches, Staff and employees of FMC Dialysis , Tulane Medical Center, St. Joseph Rehab Center, Concerned Care Home Health, Inc., John Ehret High School, Taco Bell, Cargill, Bridge City Correctional Facility, and Railcrew Xpress are invited to attend the funeral service at Rock of Ages B.C., 6533 Acre Road, Marrero, LA. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery Westwego, LA.
