Mary Banks

Mary Banks entered into eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the age of 90, surrounded by her family. She was native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse, LA.

Devoted mother of Wilfred Jackson, Sr. , David Banks, and the late Alfred Banks, Sr. Daughter of the late Alfred “Teddy” Banks and Rose Dutton. Sister of Louise Martha Toles, Gladys Banks, Maryann Brown, and the late James Hicks, Sr., Louis Stevenson, Sr., Rose Williams, Corinne Henry, Mamie Glenn, Olivia Muse and Dorothy Singleton. Mother in law of Selena Banks. Preceded in death by 2 sisters in law, and 5 brothers in law, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Israelite Baptist Church and neighboring churches; businesses of Plaquemines Parish are invited to attend the funeral service at Israelite Baptist Church 144 Villary St. Belle Chasse, LA. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00a.m. and visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. at the church

Viewing will be held at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m.

Interment: English Turn Cemetery- Braithewaite, LA.
