Gilbert Harang, Sr.

Gilbert “Skeet” Harang, Sr., age 80, departed this life on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at his residence. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Gilbert was a graduate of Lincoln High School and served his country as a member of the United States Army. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Harang. Loving father of Gilda Faye Sims, Gilbert, Jr., Shelita Lynn and Christopher Harang. Grandfather of the late Raynel Harang. Son of the late Viola Johnson and Louis Harang, Jr. Grandson of the late Bella Walker Harang and Louis Harang, Sr. Father-in-law of Rev. Albert Sims, Jr., and Elva Harang. Devoted cousin of Evon J. Osborne; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Knights of Columbus are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Father Eugene F.
