Calvin Swift, Jr. departed this life at Wynhoven Health Care Center of Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the age of 77. He was a native of New Roads, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Calvin was employed as a cabdriver and formerly employed as an insulator with Avondale Shipyard. Beloved husband of Althea Price Swift. Devoted father of Sharon S. (Terrance) Wade, Jeffery (Mikeal) Swift, Keith (Darlene) Swift, Wayne (Renea) Swift, Gina Swift, and the late Renette Swift. Son of the late Calvin Swift, Sr. and Pearl M. Swift. Brother of Jesse Swift, James (Linda) Swift, Israel (Jean) Swift, Alton (Mary Ann) Swift, Sabrina S. (Stanley) Minor and the late Clarence, Cleveland, and Willie Roy Swift; also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
