Joseph Narcisse, Jr.

Joseph Narcisse, Jr., age 75, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his residence. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Joseph was a graduate of Magnolia High School and a retired tugboat company foreman. He was a member of several gospel groups which included, Gospel Tones, Spiritual Wonder, and Gentlemen of Gospel. Beloved husband of the late Rita Mae Rodney Narcisse. Devoted father of Steven (Tammy) Narcisse, Darlene Narcisse, Donna Narcisse, and Debbie Narcisse (Christopher) Young. Son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Theresa Louis Narcisse. Brother of Stella Narcisse and the late Lubertha Broden and Irdean LeDuff. Son-in-law of the late Ernest and Charlotte Sheppard Rodney. Brother-in-law of the late Edward Broden, Louis Carter, Warren Smith, Leroy Anderson, Rev. Stanley Rodney, Herman Smith, Sr., Annie Mae Carter, Patricia Rodney, Gloria Smith, Vera Mae Hermanise Sheppard, Mary J. Smith and Sarah Ellis; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Baptist Church, 433 Avondale Garden Rd. Avondale, LA on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Damian J. Brown, officiating

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

On Friday, May 26, 2017 a viewing will be held from 7pm-9pm at the church.
