Willie H. Jordan, Sr.

March 15, 1933 — June 1, 2017

Willie “Hip Poppa” Hezekiah Jordan, Sr., age 84, transitioned from his earthly life to his heavenly life on Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was a native of Morgan City, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Willie was employed with the Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Dept. until his retirement in 2005. Beloved husband of 64 years to Evelyn A. Adams Jordan. Loving father of Darria (Allen) Wooden, Willie (Judy) Jordan, Jr., Yolanda (Johnnie) Carr, Grenita, Byron, Sr. (Shara), Mary, Michael (Sandra), Demery, Monica, LaDuan, Sr. (Richshalyn) and Quiana Jordan and Juanara Jordan (Michael) Williams. Grandfather of the late Jeremy Green, LaDuan Jordan, Jr. ,and Robert Curtis, Jr. Son of the late Willie Hezekiah Jordan and Lucille Bolden. Brother of Jean Wickem. Son-in-law the late James Adams, Sr. and Bishop Inez Adams. Brother-in-law Estelle Bolden, Mary Bramlett, Sandra (Edward, Jr.) Batiste, and Samuel (Iva) Adams. Godfather of Yolanda Dorsey; also survived by 39 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank Ms. Jennifer LeBlanc, Ms. Sherry, Ms. LaJeanne, St. Margaret’s Hospice, St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and everyone for their love, support, prayers, presence and words of encouragement during this difficult time.
