Clarence E. Bolden, Jr.

July 27, 1937 — June 9, 2017

Clarence Earl Bolden, Jr., age 79, transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday, June 9, 2017 at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of New York, and presently residing in Marrero, LA. Junior, as he is affectionately known by his family, was a retired employee of the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority. Beloved husband of June Watson Bolden. Devoted father of Beverly Bolden of Brooklyn, NY and Regina Bolden of Opelika, AL. Stepfather of Roderick and Shannon Alexander. Grandfather of Nylan and Kamrian Alexander. Son of the late Clarence Earl, Sr. and Rose Keller Bolden. Grandson of the late Thomas and Rebecca Bolden, and Jake, Sr. and Leona-Mary Keller. Brother of Marva Bolden Walker of Manhattan, NY and the late Norma Bolden Harrison. Uncle of Nelson Harrison, Jodi Jones, Ronald Dunlap, and Rebecca Miller of Manhattan, NY. Loving godfather of Azalea M. Roussell. Brother-in-law of Lorraine Weary, Brenda Mosley, Mary (Ken) Barth, and Tom (Yvonne) Watson. Nephew-in-law of Alfreda Smith; also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. The family would like to express special and heartfelt thanks to employees of Budget Saver Grocery Store (Marrero) and West Jefferson Ambulance Service. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Ave., Marrero, LA on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Bishop James Nelson Brown, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Christian Social Cemetery-Gretna, LA  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna LA
