Roger “Dickey” Mars, age 51, departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2017. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Roger was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and was self employed. He was known as a “Jack of all Trades” which allowed him the opportunity to spread his talents and help people all over the City of New Orleans. Dickey was a dedicated member of the Dirty South 504 Boys and the Buffalo Soldiers. Devoted husband of Kevalenette Mars. Loving father of Raven, Jasmine, Kedrick, Rachelle, Levon, Kyron, and Tahjee. Beloved son of Frances McShane and the late Feltus Mars. Brother of Darrell Mars, Ron Mars, Turner Jones, Caron Mars-Pittman, and Tamika Hughes; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Heart to Heart Family Worship Center and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Heart to Heart Family Worship Center, 3631 Washington Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
