Elder Lucy Lofton Crockett fell asleep in the blessed hope of Christ’s soon return on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age of 88. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Lucy was employed by the Snow White Laundry, and also worked as a special needs teacher and domestic worker.
Devoted mother of Yolanda Crockett Searls, Monica Crockett, Cassandra Weston, and the late Wardell Batiste and Vallory Crockett. Grandmother of Angela B. Kealing (Damion), Rasha B. Williams (Joey), Wardell J. Batiste II, Tasha and William Miller, Marleen K. Walls (Clark), Maleka C. Carey (Ruben), Tamera and Fatima Weston, and Kita W. Harris. Great grandmother of the late Kiva Lynn Wade. Daughter of the late Sanders and Gladys Harris Lofton. Sister of Vivan L. Jones, Gladys L. Williams, and the late Jacqueline L. Smith, Merril L. Williams and Sanders Lofton. Mother-in-law of Andrea Batiste and the late Larry Searls. Sister-in-law of Belinda Lofton, and the late Eugene Smith and John Jones also survived by 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of the area Seventh-Day Adventist Churches and neighboring churches are invited to attend the celebration of life at Ephesus Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2400 Delachaise St., New Orleans, LA on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the above named church.
Interment: Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery- Metairie, LA.
