Samuel Henry, Jr.

Samuel "Sam" Henry, Jr. departed this life at Passages Hospice on Sunday July 16, 2017 at the age of 60. He was native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Sam was known as the reliable Appliance Repair Man to family and friends. Loving husband of Mamie Lee Henry. Father of Renee T. Henry, Mitchell E. Henry and Samuel (Ashley) E. Henry III, and John Mayberry. Son of the late Samuel E. Henry, Sr. and Viola Watts Henry. Brother of Edna M. Henry, Dianne (George ) H. Caston, Michael (Doris) Henry, Al Marie (Thomas) H. Carradine, Ernest Henry, Octavia A. Henry, Laura L. Henry, and Jerome T. Henry. Also survived by 2 aunts, 24 grandchildren, and a host of, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of New Hope Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at New Hope Baptist Church 434 7th Street, Gretna, LA. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery- Westwego, LA.
