Joseph Valentino Holmes, Sr.

Joseph “Joe” Holmes, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the age of 75. He was a retired truck driver for Lafarge Cement Company. Joe was a native of St. Joseph, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.

Loving husband of 54 years to Laura Holmes. Devoted father of Clara (Norman) Spann, Gwenell (Dennis) Goodly, Joseph Holmes, Jr., Derrick (Rosalind) Holmes, Tammie (Lionel) Florence, Dwayne (Wannshaunda) Holmes, Trenika Holmes, and legal guardian of Kevin Patrick Holmes. Son of the late Samuel Holmes, Sr and Alma Coleman. Brother of Esau Washington, Clyde Washington, Johnny Coleman, Leandre Coleman, Cleandre Coleman, Willie Carter, Greg Holmes, Samuel Holmes, Jr., Dale Coleman, Josephine Ward, and the late Mike Holmes, Van Holmes, Beau Shorts, Albert Coleman, Jacob Washington, and Myra Clark, also survived by 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends .

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Belle Chasse Church of Christ and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Belle Chasse Church of Christ 105 Kimble St. Belle Chasse, LA on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
