Lynn Cammon

February 6, 1954 — August 22, 2017

Lynn Girtley Cammon, age 63, answered the Master’s call to eternal rest on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Lynn was a graduate of George Washington Carver Sr. High School and Southern University of New Orleans, LA, where she earned a degree in business. She was a retired Lead Computer Scheduler for the United States Department of Agriculture. Beloved wife of 26 years to Charlie “Chuck” Cammon. Loving stepmother of Chauncey (Terrell) Cammon and Chavez (Nikki) Cammon. Daughter of the late Daniel and Bertha Girtley. Sister of Jerry Girtley, Raymond Girtley, Lawrence “Pee Wee” Girtley, and Tonette Girtley; also survived by 6 step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members, of Beacon Light International Cathedral, Heart to Heart Family Worship Center, Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church #2 and all neighboring churches; employees of USDA and Southern University of New Orleans; members of George Washington Carver Class of 1973 are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on at Beacon Light International Cathedral, 1937 Mirabeau Ave., New Orleans, LA on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Bishop Darryl Brister, officiating. Viewing will be held from 9:00a.m. -10:00a.m. Only at the above named church. Interment: Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery-Gretna, LA
