Alvin V. Johnson

Alvin V. “ Lil Bro” “ Shorty” Johnson entered into eternal peace with God on Friday September 1, 2017 at his residence.

He worked for Hubig’s Bakery Gretna, LA for many years and a retired from Avondale Shipyard.

Husband of the late Lillie Bell Hudson. Father of Ivan (Kathy) Johnson and Gannon Johnson. Son of the late Jules Lee Johnson and Nadage Thomas Johnson. Brother of Willie Mae Johnson, Stanley Johnson, Eula Johnson-Brooks, Aaron Johnson, Carl Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Jules Diamond Washington, Anna Jones, and the late  Barbara Johnson Batiste and Lois Johnson-Green. Uncle of the late Dwayne Batiste and Peter Brooks, also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends

Age: 72 years a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Ministries and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Progressive Ministries 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Pastor Sterling Mealancon officiating

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
