Alice Faye “Betty” Smith Gray entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved wife of the late Carlton Gary, Sr. Loving stepmother of Carlton Gray, Jr. Stephen Gray and the late Russell Kirkland. Devoted grandmother of Iesha Joseph. Daughter of the late Rev. Anderson Smith, Sr. and Songster Roxie Williams Smith. Sister of Isabella Smith (Joseph), Westwego, LA, Corinne Tate, Baton Rouge, LA, Ella Mae Coleman, White Castle, LA, Linda Smith, Marrero, LA, Carolyn Ross (Wilbert), Plaquemine, LA, Cheryl Grant, Baton Rouge, LA , Anderson Smith, Jr. (Audrey), Harvey, LA, Pastor Royal Smith (Linda), Baton Rouge, LA, Joseph Smith, Marrero, LA, Rev. Frank “Greg” Smith (Natalie), Marrero, La., and the late Robert Smith. Aunt of the late Jonathan Tate. Great aunt of the late Devin Tate. Sister in law of Debra Lovely and the late Douglas Coleman Sr. and Michael Grant. Godmother of Douglas Coleman Jr., Anderson ‘Troy” Smith, Kevin Black, Dakyra Coleman, and Nakita Jones; also survived by traveling partner Chrishendol Smith, 37 nieces and nephews (eldest Victoria) and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.  Age: 62 years, a native of Plaquemines, LA. and a resident of Marrero, LA.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of New Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches. are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Zion Baptist Church 1131 Garden Rd., Marrero, LA on Saturday September 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Austin Dennis- Officiating . Visitation will being at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.
