Calvin Shepherd, Sr

Calvin Shepherd, Sr., age 73, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Calvin was a retired employee of the Hospitality Industry. He was an original member of the Spiritual Wonders. Loving father of Carlolice, Calvin (Agatha), Asante’ and Charalda Shepherd. Grandfather of Kavion (Marc) Campbell, Edwin Strickling, Jr., Laylah Lundy, Tyler Shepherd, Dylan Shepherd, and Destiny Watkins. Great-grandfather of Kamri and Micah Campbell. Son of the late Rev. Earl Shepherd, Sr. and Lelia Verrett Shepherd. Stepson of the late Alvoid Shepherd. Brother of the late Clarence, Curtis, Earl, Jr. and Marvin Shepherd. Stepbrother of the late Gerald Bolian. Calvin is also survived by 2 step-nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Word of Truth, City of Love, Loving Faith Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of Children Bureau, Positive Direction, Home Instead Senior Care, Belle Chasse Naval Air Station, and Golden Corral are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00a.m. Rev. Alvin Mosely, Sr., officiating

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
