Darlene Jones Millsaps

Darlene Jones Millsaps, age 58, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her residence. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Darlene was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and Moler Beauty College. She also attended Xavier University of New Orleans where she studied vocal music. Darlene was a retired machinist of Cargill Grain Elevator Inc. She was a member of several gospel choirs and will be remembered as one of God’s most anointed singers. Beloved wife of Apostle James K. Millsaps. Devoted mother of Geneita M. Jones, Veneita M. Jackson, and Jamal E. Jackson. Grandmother of the late Skky Parish Ruffin and Dallas Jackson. Beloved daughter of the late Rev. Paul Jones, Sr. and Geneva Reed Jones. Stepdaughter of Alean Briggs Jones. Loving sister of Dorothy (James) Reed, Ida L. (Arthur) Domio, Paulette (Adolph) Smith, Sharon Briggs, Paul Clair, Patrick D. (Diane) Jones, Sr., Keithen Jones, Wayne Briggs, Robert Briggs and the late Amos, Paul Sr., Elder Elias, Ronnie, and Jerry Jones, Sr., Darryl and Michael Briggs. Sister-in-law of Estelle Jones Dennis; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 aunts, 2 uncles, 5 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Total Armour of God Ministries, Historic Shiloh MBC, Greater Zionfield FWC, The Word Works Ministries, Rock of Ages BC and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 9:30a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.
