David Smith

David “Mookie” Butler Smith entered into eternal rest on Wednesday October 4, 2017 at his residence at the age of 62. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. David served in the US Marine Corps where he received numerous commendations.

Devoted father of Jackie Smith Reynolds and Jorel Smith. Grandfather of Taliyah, Joreian, Jorel, Demarcus, Ty, Kahlil, Robert, Jr., and Raiden. Son of the late Alvin A. Smith and Rev. Vidalia Johnson Smith. Brother of Lucille Ledet,  Earline Smith, and the late Marie Smith, Vidalia Johnson, Josephine Phillips, and Alvin Smith, Jr., also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
