Vanessa Marie Nellon, age 56, departed this life on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at her residence. She was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Vanessa was employed by Sodexo at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved wife of Keith Champ. Loving mother of Derrick Nellon, Vernon Nellon, Keindill Nellon, Sr. and Quincy Nellon. Daughter of the late William Nellon,Sr. and Jessie Jordan. Granddaughter of the late West and Ida Mae Nellon. Sister of William Nellon, James Nellon, Sim Nellon,Troy Nellon, Freddie (Jeanette) Barden, James (Songy) Turner, Charles (Carla) Helton, Jessie Jackson, Francis, Nellon, Renee (JD) Nellon and the late Louis (Nedra) Nellon, Sr., Ray Charles Nellon, and McKensy (Lenora) Turner; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Sodexo and West Jefferson Medical Center are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Melvin C. Zeno, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA
