John W. Allen, Jr.

John W. (Big John) Allen, Jr. entered into eternal rest at his residence on Wednesday , October 11, 2017 at the age of 78. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. John retired from Avondale Shipyard as a pipefitter.

Beloved husband of Angel Jones Allen. Devoted father of John-El Stevenson, Johnisha Allen and the late John W. Allen, III. Stepfather of Rachel Jones, Angelina Jones, and Anthony Jones. Son of the late John W. Allen, Sr. and Elizabeth B. Allen. Brother of Tyrone Allen, Edward Allen, Dorothy Allen, and the late Gloria Allen, Beverly Allen, and Barbara Allen. Son in law of Elaine Crandle. Brother in law of Bruce Crandle and Tina (Egar) Blanchard, also survived by 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Mt. Herman Baptist Church 3512 Highway 90 W, Avondale, LA on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:00a.m.
