Julius Charles Divens, Jr.

Julius Charles Divens, Jr., departed this life at his residence on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 76 .  He was a a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Julius was a 1959 graduate of Xavier Prep High School and retired after 40 years of service from F. Strauss Bros/Glazer’s Companies of Louisiana.   Beloved husband of the late Sallie Lambert Divens. Stepfather of Cledius Walker (Bruce) Ingram. Grandfather of Tiffany and Charnay Ingram. Great-Grandfather of Zamyrie, Kelbie, and Kayla. Son of the late Beatrice and Julius C. Divens, Sr. Brother of Elizabeth Divens (Stanford) Lambert and the late Thomas J. Divens, Sr. Uncle of Steven Lambert, Thomas J. (Trever) Divens, Jr., and Kiel M. (LaTanja) Divens, June Lambert (Eugene) Johnson, Gail Lambert (James) Ward, Linda Lambert Wells, and Mona Lambert (Marlon) Winchester. Brother in law of Lana Gilbert Divens, Aletha Lambert Washington, Lavinia Lambert Darensburg, Mildred Lambert Gilson, Barbara Lambert, Gail Lambert Shannon, Desiree Lambert (Andre) Lewis, Sharon Lambert (Chance) Brooks, Donna Lambert Hodges, Tyra Lambert (Lionel) McDonald, Samantha Lambert (Kevin) Barker, Evandus (Carmel) Lambert, Ricky and Craig Lambert, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of New Hope B.C., Regular B.C., Life Center Cathedral, Mt. Pilgrim B.C., and Hosanna Fellowship are invited to attend the funeral services at New Hope B.C., 434 7th Street, Gretna, LA  on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
